Last week we were gifted with 2 consecutive beautiful, sunny, jacket-less days! That first warm day after a long winter is always one of the happiest days of the year for me. I had a few errands planned that day and they seemed like such a drag because they were primarily indoor. We were ALL itching to soak up every second of the day outside! We finally made it out, and stayed out as long as possible. It was glorious! Jane insisted on pushing Lyla in the stroller. When she wasn't pushing, she was running. In my head I was thinking please, always love to run because running is a pretty awesome thing to love, and I actually love watching track meets. I am supporting her love of running with every thing I have. Plus, watching your kid just run free with a giant smile on their face, looking back every few seconds to make sure you are close behind and witnessing their unadulterated joy, is just one of the greatest simple pleasures of life.
^^ Once at the top she excitedly proclaimed: "I'm King Benjamin!"
^^ running.
And stopping only when her shoe fell off. That very night I went online and let her help me pick out some proper running shoes. Pink, of course, since it is in her mind far superior to all other colors.
Lyla was quite delighted. She reminds me just of Jane at this age. Strap her in a stroller and walk around and she will sit there silently soaking in nature and all of its wonder. For hours, if possible.
^^ bossing me around. (she is really good at that) "go sit over there mommy!"
I want to complain about how the weather has resumed its dreariness but I've already talked enough about the weather lately, yeah? I'm just reliving these blissful days and grateful that my days can be good and full of joy, whether or not the sun is shining outside.
Haha the King Benjamin thing had me laughing, but it's also awesome that she thinks about those things :)
