and no i didn't truly realize what it was.
so many people can say i told you so now...
my husband is going into the army
and is in rotc right now.
already so much of his time is devoted to it.
sometimes it SUCKS.
he has been gone this weekend
aaaaand he will be gone next weekend.
we never wake up together because he has early morning training every morning.
he is going to leave me for 4 weeks this summer
and a lot longer than that when he gets deployed later on
which I'm still hoping is a worst case scenario, perhaps naively.
i'm falling apart after what? 48 hours?
not even that....
i thought it would be nice to have alone time,
but its not alone time at all without my husband,
its time for me to feel completely incomplete.
im so pathetic, i realize.
i guess it makes it worse when I'm just home all day
in our apartment, by myself.
{which is partially my fault, but still}
i love him so much though.
and i support him whole heartedly
because i know he is doing this for me
and our future family.
he is such a stud, so diligent and hard working.
and what is marriage without sacrifice?
there are some definite pros to being an army wife too
tons of discounts at lots of places
sometimes happy strangers thank him for his service.
sometimes they even gratefully hand us a $20 bill {true story}
and we both have a greater love and respect for this country.
I'm proud of my army man
and i'll stand by him forever.
plus- oh my heck he is so cute!
It's a wonderful thing that you love your husband so much; there are tons of great bloggers out there in your situation. You should hook up with them i bet they have GREAT advice!

While I was never officially an Army wife, my fiance was active duty Army for 5+ years and still serves as an officer in the National Guard. I can't say that it ever gets easy, but it does get easier. Those first few extended separations were the hardest for me.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week with your husband and try and plan something pampering for yourself this weekend. I took advantage of my guy being gone by drinking wine and watching a chick flick with an ugly black face mask on. LOL
I'm around if you don't have anyone else who understands your situation and you need to vent.
thanks so much. so kind of you! :) yeah next weekend I'm definitely going make actual plans for myself this weekend :)
