27 weeks bumpdate

im 27 weeks along. {may be rounding up by 2 days- sue me.}
not so fun fact? my due date was pushed back a week.
that blooowwwsss
okay i might sound dramatic- but any woman who has been pregnant or who is currently pregnant can
most likely understand how frustrating this is...am i right?
or maybe I'm just extra impatient.
either way it blows.

so even though the first half of pregnancy was a big ball of sickness- it seemed to go by pretty fast.
second half? so much more enjoyable- but it is going by so much slower.
i think it is just becoming more real which results in high anticipation on my part.

bear with me on this one...
but to me it's like having a super bad craving for cake
and knowing your husband has hidden your favorite cake somewhere in the house.
but you can't find it, you can't eat it.
you just have to sit there until he deems it the right moment for you to finally be able to consume
the cake of your deepest desires.
pregnancy is kinda like that.
the absolute epitome of: so close, yet so far.
you can feel her every movement, sense her every hiccup.
yet, you cannot see her, mother her, lay her on your chest and inhale that sweet baby smell
it is quite tantalizing but i know it is all just part of the plan.
pregnancy is a dang miracle, one that i am proud and honored to be a part of.

anyways, i started feeling that sciatic nerve pain i've been hearing about.
probably the only symptom i had not yet experienced, well now i can say that i have been deprived of just about ZERO pregnancy symptoms.
it hurts. but ya know, everything hurts nowadays.
my leg was just feeling left out so now its trying to fit in with the rest of my body.
i do miss my old body, and with this warm weather i miss being able to exercise.
really exercise. run up hills, climb up mountains, jump up and down- ya know, the good stuff.

i am feeling like my baby will never actually be here.
3 more months is a long time, especially since i feel like i've been pregnant for forever.
did anyone else ever feel like this when they were pregnant?
everytime i see a baby i have a greater appreciation because I'm like:
"that thing had to cook for so dang long! props to it for finally being born!"

lastly, some noteworthy things:
- i have been feeling baby hiccups. so cute!
(when i told jeff this, he thought it was a joke. he didn't think it was possible for a fetus to get the hiccups. haha)
- my baby has been what i like to call "violent stretching". self explanatory, i believe
-yesterday- for the first time ever, a stranger asked me when the baby was due. i think that makes this thing official.
- jeff and i decided on a name. like 90% sure. because i refuse to pick a name with 100% certainty until i see her.
 {even though, lets be honest, they all look like pink aliens for at least the first week}

the end. if you reached the end of this pregnancy novel/rant, give yourself a pat on the back.
then go eat something delicious.

ps...stay tuned for a cute giveaway coming soon :)

  1. I love this. :) i love reading your thoughts, you are hilarious!!

  2. I wish you could just see your baby's face!!! Just know what she looks like and then she can crawl back in there

  3. YES YES YES!!! I know exactly how you feel! I seriously felt like I was going to be pregnant forever...Time slowed down the closer I got to Kaiya's due date. Luckily, I kept myself busy with school and work until the month before I was due. Longest month of my life...but it does come. And from that point on, that little baby girl of yours will grow like a weed and you'll try to slow down time again!

Enjoy every moment Kerri. It goes by faster than you think. :)

(FYI...You are such an adorable pregnant lady! :) )

    1. oh man I'm glad I'm not the only one. the only problem is for the last 2 months of my pregnancy i won't even be in school or have anything to do besides prepare for her which will make it worse! I really do tell myself to enjoy every moment because pregnancy is so amazing!! And i do love being pregnant except for the times when i just get so stinkin' anxious to meet her already! haha. Thanks mikaila, you are great! :)

  4. What did you and Jeff decide on?!?

  5. Oh my goodness I was so impatient when I was pregnant... one I wanted my little boy, but more than that I was so sick the whole 9 months, I just wanted to not throw up finally! =)

Also, my little hiccuped all the time. Usually just as I was trying to go to sleep. I spent many a nights sleeping on the couch with my belly shoved into the back cushions just so the hiccups were not as jarring. The funny thing is that after he was born he still had the hiccups all the time, which freaked me out the first time he started, until I realized really it was nothing new!

Thank you so much for sharing this at the Oh HAPPY Day party. I love the bump picture, so sweet.

    1. I'm sorry you were sick the whole time! i was sick for the first 20 weeks and still am if i don't take medicine. but it has gotten better. throwing up gets real old!

  6. I love reading your posts, we hope to try for a family late next year and I have NO IDEA what to expect so I love reading your posts. I have been getting sciatic nerve pains this week without being pregnant!

  7. Glad you are feeling better. You look great :-)
