enjoy the moments

ok you know who i love?
president uchtdorf.
there is something about his voice that just calms my soul
and makes me feel like there is no reason in the world to ever be sad again.
sometimes i fall asleep listening to his talks for this reason.
his most recent talk, i think i have listened to 5 times already
and each time, i feel more inspired.

i suh-wear he straight up wrote this talk just for me.
he talks about spending our time doing things that matter in the grand scheme of things.
and loving every second of it
spending time with the ones we love is what our focus should be
cuz when it comes down to it, that is all that matters.
not fancy houses, expensive cars, impressive professions
not the clothes you wear or your social media fan club.
those things all fade with time.
and the few things that don't are...

just your people. you know the ones.

we should love every second of it. ya know, of life
ill admit I'm bad at this sometime.
before i was married i said
"i'll be happy when I'm married"
and yes, i very much am happy.
but just the other day i caught myself saying
"i will be so much happier when i graduate"
ok, lame person.

i know that in 10 years from now when i bring my little family to provo
i will most definitely cry as sweet nostalgia hits me like a ton of bricks.
thinking of the memories that were made here
the best memories ever -where the most monumental moments occurred.
i know i will look back with fondness and sometimes wish for these times back.
just like i do now with past memories.
i talk more about this here

and right now i am happy.
i want to be a happy person all the time
treasure my family
treasure my husband, and the family we will build together.
i REALLY don't ever want to say as i am dying
that i wish i had spent more time with those precious people
or that i was happier.
because really, even at this very moment-
all my wildest dreams are a reality.
and i feel like i am doing what i was born to do
why would i not be happy?

man, it's stinkin' hard to be happy sometimes.
but then again, its even harder to be sad
when you think about all the good things, especially the good people, in your life.

  3. I love him. And I love this talk. Most especially the quote, because it is our family motto.
